Welcome, My Beautiful Souls,

There’s something about the full moon that always seems to pull us in.

Maybe it’s the way it lights up the sky…
or the way it makes us pause, reflect, and feel just a little more connected to something bigger than ourselves.

But if you’ve been around me for even a little while,

you know I like to do things a little differently.

I love the magic…
But I also love the truth.

And sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is understand what’s actually happening — in the sky, in nature, and within ourselves.

This month’s full moon — the Pink Moon — is one of those moments.

It’s beautiful. It’s seasonal. It’s meaningful.

But maybe not in the way you’ve been told.

So let’s get into it —
let’s get a little nerdy,
and a little intentional.

Because here at The Rose Ways…
we don’t just follow the energy,

✨ we understand it ✨

🌕 Let’s Get Nerdy: The Pink Moon

Despite the name…
the Pink Moon is not actually pink.

I know. Slightly disappointing 😂

But the real meaning is actually more interesting—and much more grounded in nature.

🌿 Where the Name “Pink Moon” Comes From

The term Pink Moon comes from Native American seasonal naming traditions, especially from the Algonquin peoples.

It was named after a flower:

Moss Pink (Phlox subulata)

One of the first flowers to bloom in early spring across North America.

The name reflects what was happening during the season,

not in the sky.

The Algonquin people also referred to this moon as the:

“Breaking Ice Moon”

Marking the time of year when winter begins to release its hold and ice starts to thaw.

🌱 What the Pink Moon Traditionally Marks

Historically, this full moon wasn’t about emotions or manifestation.

It marked a shift in the natural world:

  • Early spring arrival

  • Plants beginning to grow

  • Increased animal activity

  • Seasonal transition

It was a signal:
the earth is waking up again

🌕 Moon Nerdy Facts

Let’s get into it:

  • The Moon is moving away from Earth at about 1.5 inches per year

  • Full moons are approximately 99.9% illuminated

  • Moonlight is actually reflected sunlight

  • The Moon plays a major role in controlling ocean tides

Simple. Real. Science.

🌌 April 2026: The Micromoon

Here’s where it gets interesting.

The April 2026 Pink Moon is classified as a micromoon.

That means the full moon occurs when the Moon is at its farthest point from Earth (apogee).

Because of this:

  • It may appear about 7% smaller

  • And about 15% dimmer than a typical full moon

It’s subtle—but real.

✨ A Simple Full Moon Ritual

If you want to work with the full moon energy, keep it simple and intentional.

Here’s one you can do:

Speak this out loud:

Thank you to the universe for everything I have,
everything on its way to me,
and everything I am about to receive.

I am thankful for my family, my health, my happiness, my life.

Repeat this 3 times.

Then Say:

As my thank you, I give back.

Place silver coins into the earth—in your yard, near a plant, or in a dedicated offering space like an alter.

Let it be an offering.

Let it return to you, threefold.

🌕 Final Thoughts

The Pink Moon isn’t about love spells or emotional symbolism.

It’s about something much simpler:

a seasonal shift.

And honestly…
there’s something powerful about understanding things as they actually are.
